Samantha Jones return in Sex and the City sequel: Without Samantha Jones, Sex and the City has been like toast without butter. It is understandable why her highly anticipated appearance in SATC’s follow-up, And Just Like That, last night’s finale, has generated so much buzz.
After a bitter six-year argument with Sarah Jessica Parker (SJP), who portrays Carrie Bradshaw, Kim Cattrall vowed never to reprise her role as Samantha, the man-eating PR executive. However, she was convinced to change her mind early this year after fans complained that the tale of life and love in Manhattan just wasn’t the same without her.

Here, original SATC aficionado and raucous commentator CLAUDIA CONNELL discusses Kim’s major return as the second season came to an end and the other unexpected turns in the final episode (spoiler alert!).
Last night, Kim Cattrall was on air for a total of 60 seconds. The actress reportedly received $1 million (£790,000) to film the scene, which works out to an amazing £13,166 per second of broadcast for the 20 lines she speaks.
Cattrall claims that the CEO of the HBO television network called her and inquired about the conditions for her return. One of her requests was to have her hair fashioned by Patricia Field, a renowned costume designer who worked on the original series but not the revival.
