Florence and the Machine singer Florence Welch has revealed that she has had life-saving surgery after pulling out of a string of gigs.
Florence Welch, who previously cancelled gigs after a foot injury, took to the social media platform Instagram to share why this move was made.
Florence and the Machine shared a post on Instagram on Sunday to say she “had to have emergency surgery for reasons I don’t really feel strong enough to tell you yet”.
She revealed an X-ray had shown she was “dancing on a broken foot” and originally broke her foot during a performance at London’s O2 Arena in November.
Florence Welch said in a post: “I’m so sorry that I had to cancel the last couple of shows. My feet are fine; I had to have emergency surgery for reasons I don’t really feel strong enough to go into yet, but it saved my life.”
